Newcastle's Historic Coal Miner's Cemetery
Clean-Up & Trail Building
Pictures from May 2011
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Weed Warriors prepared the Cemetery for the Memorial Day opening to the public.
The Cemetery is a King County Historic Landmark and is open to the public
on Memorial Day for visitors who would like to walk through the grounds.
Honored guest at the project is Coal Miner Milt Swanson, our living history of
Newcastle and the Coal Mines. Pam Lee, Newcastle Historic Society President,
is on Milt's left, and Peggy Price of Newcastle Trails, on the right.
Milt walked the trail that the Weed Warriors cleared.
Thanks, Weed Warriors, for a memorable day!
Weed Warriors had an awesome event preparing the Newcastle Historical Cemetery
for Memorial Day. Weed Warriors removed invasive ivy,
spiffed up the cemetery trail, and had fun getting dirty!
