Bert the Salmon says, "Think Green, Everyday!"

We invite you to celebrate what’s “green” for people and the environment. Businesses, non-profits, the City of Newcastle, community leaders, and individuals share ideas and solutions to help make our lives healthier - socially, economically, and environmentally.

Earth Day is a global event that promotes healthy living, sustainable practices, encourages environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

Newcastle Earth Day offers "green"  products and services from local businesses and non-profits that make a difference for our planet and future generations.

Learn how to install a rain garden at Earth Day! The day’s events include informative educational seminars, kids activities, electric vehicles, the Pacific Science Center's interactive "Science in the Environment" display, geocaching, blackberry munching goats, flower and veggie bedding plants for sale by Hazen Booster Club, and musical entertainment by the Boeing Employees’ Concert Band, the High School Jazz Band, and "The Gifted Program." Bert the Salmon, King County's Natural Resource Mascot, shares how we impact the health of Puget Sound. Eco-friendly businesses showcase products from organic body care products to solar and wind energy solutions. Join us for the celebration which inspires all of us to responsibly care for the earth. "Think Globally, Act Locally."
