"Only Rain Down the Drain!"
A crowd of all ages gathered at Lake Boren Park under blue sky and sunshine to celebrate Earth Day in Newcastle.
Thank you to the 60 businesses and non-profits that shared what’s "good" for Puget Sound and “green” for the environment.
Thank you to Tony Ventrella who opened the event with a history of Earth Day, and sharing the importance of our local sustainable actions today for future generations.
Thank you to so many people who made this event possible - the City of Newcastle, the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce businesses, our producers, sponsors, emcees, community leaders, seminar hosts, the bands, the many volunteers and the individuals who shared ideas which help make our lives healthier - socially, economically, and environmentally.
Earth Day is celebrated in cities in 192 counties around the world. We are proud to have taken action locally to promote healthy living, sustainable practices, environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
